Another craft we made in my kid's craft class was a clay octopus.
We used the Simply Pressed Clay. The kids love the clay! It is nice and soft, and easy for them to work with.
I love that it can easily be colored with re-inkers to make lots of fun projects. See my tutorial on how I colored the clay here.
The kids were great at making it - the picture above is the one my 8yr old daughter made. I just had to make sure to give step-by-step directions.
They stated out with a clay ball. Then they divided it into 2. (Each bag made 16)
They left one ball in the middle of the paper, and split the other into 2.
The 2 smaller pieces were then split into 2. So 4 small balls, and 1 large.
The 4 small balls were each divided into 2 - to make 8 :)
Each tiny ball was then rolled into a log.
They attached the legs to the head, and added a small piece of gray and white clay for the eyes.
Clay day is always the kids favorite day of craft class.
